Let All the People Praise the Lord
Based on Psalm 117
Praise the Lord, all nations sing,
Honour Christ, the risen King;
Young and old, both great and small,
God extends His love to all.
Praise Him when the sun shines bright,
Praise Him through the darkest night;
Praise Him when the road seems long,
For His grace will keep you strong.
We have wandered, we have strayed,
Yet our debt was fully paid;
On the cross Christ took our place,
Opening wide the door of grace.
Satan points to sins we’ve done,
God points us to Christ His Son;
Mercy speaks from Calvary—
“Jesus died to set you free.”
Do not praise with lips alone,
While your heart remains like stone;
Let your words and actions show
That the Saviour’s love you know.
Human thoughts will twist and turn,
Passing fashions quickly burn;
But God’s truth shall never bend—
It endures until the end.
Though the world rejects His Word,
Still its warning must be heard;
Christ alone can cleanse your sin—
Open up and let Him in.
If your faith has grown so cold,
Think upon His grace of old;
Every prayer and burden shared,
Every moment when He cared.
Let not sorrow steal your song,
For the Lord will make you strong;
Even when your teardrops fall,
Jesus still is Lord of all.
Two short verses—yet they bring
Every heart before the King:
Great His mercy from above,
Endless truth and boundless love.
Let each nation raise its voice,
Let the saved in Christ rejoice;
Let our homes His glory show—
Let the watching nations know.
Praise the Lord while life remains,
Praise Him through your joys and pains;
Mercy great and truth restored—
Let all people praise the Lord!
“For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.” — Psalm 117:2
