Poem Psalm 119

A Lamp Unto My Feet

Inspired by Psalm 119

When shadows fall across my way,
And I cannot see beyond today,
Your Word becomes a steady light
To guide my feet through darkest night.

I’ll hide Your promises in my heart
And ask You, Lord, to never depart;
When sin would lead my feet astray,
Your truth will call me back to pray.

When trials come and tears appear,
Your faithful words will draw me near;
Though I may stumble, weak and worn,
Your mercy meets me every morn.

Lord, open up my eyes to see
The wonders in Your Word for me;
And when I cannot see the end,
Help me to trust You, Lord, my Friend.

If I should wander far from home
And find myself afraid, alone,
Good Shepherd, seek me when I stray
And gently lead me back Your way.

So let Your Word shine clear and bright
Upon my path by day and night;
A lamp to guide each step I take
Until I see You face to face.
