Poem -Psalm 120

I Am for Peace

Inspired by Psalm 120

When troubled words disturb my day,
And truth is twisted on its way,
I cry to God through grief and fear;
The Lord who heard me still will hear.

A lying tongue can wound the heart
And tear the closest friends apart;
But I will bring my hurt to God
And trust the justice of His rod.

I’m weary of the bitter strife,
The angry words that trouble life.
I speak of peace; they call for war,
Yet I will not return their roar.

Lord, guard my lips when tempers rise;
Keep me from speaking spite or lies.
Give me the strength to do what’s right
And hold to truth through darkest night.

Though others choose to fight again,
I’ll seek Your peace amid the pain.
And when my weary heart would cease,
Remind me, Lord: I am for peace.
